Last year, Copper Island Fine Homes spotted an increasingly rare lakeview lot on Islandview Road in Shuswap Lake Estates. Although the lot has slope challenges, we could clearly see the potential, and we decided to purchase it.
Over the last year, we’ve spent a lot of time working out a good design to fit on the lot — one that maximizes the view of the lake. Working with Meyer Designs out of Coldstream, we came up with a solid walkout basement plan (you can see the main floor layout above at the lower right).
Recently, we cleared the lot, put in a culvert, and got it ready for construction. We’re now offering the lot with a contract to build the house as a package, and by early next week, you will be able to see it listed on MLS (realtor.ca).
Also above are renderings of the finished home based on photos taken from the location and height of the viewpoints. Naturally, at this stage, the design can be altered and many finishing selections changed, but the way we’ve proceeded up to this point gives us a good starting to move forward from.
