The Light Fantastic

When Copper Island Fine Homes owner and CEO Marcus Picton heard a client raving about the light, inside and out, in their recently completed massive renovation, he wanted to see for himself. So he recently paid an evening visit to the Eagle Bay lakefront home, which was completed earlier this year after two years of extensive remodeling. The photos above give you some idea of what he found.

“The clients love how the house looks at night with all the lights on, so I really wanted to see what it looked like — it struck me as an unusual feature to single out,” says Marcus. “During the renovation, they opted for some very cool lighting on the outside, and on inside as well, including fixtures on each step on the stairs and many more potlights throughout for much more light and drama. The home also has a lot of cabinet lighting, including under the cabinet and along the toe kicks. And also, in the shower, the niches are all backlit for even more stunning effect. I wasn’t disappointed with my visit, that’s for sure!”

This ambitious project took two years to complete and involved many major structural changes requiring steel beams and other components. The home was totally transformed, and it certainly is one of largest renovations we’ve ever completed. Along with our clients, we couldn’t be more pleased with the end result, and we’re contemplating entering into the next Canadian Home Builders’ Association Keystone Awards in the whole home renovation category.
