Reno Revisit

This week, several members of our staff, including owner Marcus Picton, received a pleasant reminder of how a renovation can dramatically improve the beauty and liveability of an older home–and leave an owner basking in appreciation of their altered space long after the trades have departed.

With every project we do, whether it’s a new build or a renovation, we make scheduled visits after hand-off to check for warranty issues and owner satisfaction, with the major revisit being at the one year mark. On tap last week was a check-in at an incredibly satisfying whole home reno with addition that we did at small, dated home in Eagle Bay in 2024.

“Our visit reminded us just how nice this project was and is,” says Marcus. “Now landscaped and furnished, this small but perfectly-formed second home is still delighting the client. The added vaulted ceiling and opening up the main floor totally transformed the living space. The greatly enlarged deck also provides so much more outdoor living space to enjoy.”

The before and after photos above give you a clear sense of the transformation. The black and white photos on the left were taken just before the work began. The rooms, including the kitchen, were small and cramped, and the exterior was extremely dated. The colour photos on the right show off the completely updated version, and we couldn’t help but notice how much like a brand new, contemporary home the finished product looks like.

Our thanks to our exceptional clients for allowing us to rebuild their Shuswap dream. If you’d like to discuss renovating your older Shuswap home, don’t hesitate to contact us.
