Pool With A View

We don’t build a lot of swimming pools here at Copper Island Fine Homes — our clients typically have them installed after their homes are complete and landscaping is roughed in. But we really enjoy incorporating them during the construction process, as they’re somewhat of a novelty for us.

At one of our current projects in Anglemont, a modern, luxurious timber frame build, our clients decided to include a pool. Their home is technically waterfront, but it’s high bank waterfront, and taking a dip in the lake on a hot summer day would require a bit of energy to get down to water level to cool off. Together, we found a site on their property that would be perfect for a pool — close to the main house on a level area, with outstanding views to the water.

Our clients sourced a pool company, Aqua Pro Builders, based out of Kelowna. They’re newer to the area, but already have an excellent reputation. After several site visits, they worked up a plan design, and then brought their crew on site to prep the ground and start construction. In the left photo below, you can see the form work and rebar installation for the pool base prior to any concrete being poured. Note the generous size of the pool and the deep end closest to the lake. In the right photo, you can see the substantial form work for the pool walls being prepped on top of the pool base, which had been poured by that point.

Next up, we’ll be getting to work on building an adjacent pool house to complete the resort feel in our clients’ back yard. We can’t wait to see the finished product — and we’ll be sure to post some photos of it when we’re done!
