Perfect Form

Over in Celista, we’ve been focusing a lot of our efforts on getting an exciting new lakefront build into a lockup situation before any seriously bad weather moves into our forecast.

A great deal has happened with this project since we started in September. We completed demolition of the original 60-year-old cabin on this spectacular building lot. Next we completed the lot and building site preparation, moving the original house’s footprint back from the lakefront just slightly to comply with modern riparian regulations. Then we proceeded with forming and pouring footings for the new, modern West Coast style two story home, which will have a crawl space under the main level.

This week, as you can see in the photo above, our crew did a bang up job of getting the foundation walls formed in preparation to pour. And pour we will — on Monday, we’ll be bringing in concrete and moving forward. It’s an excellent time to complete the foundation from a weather perspective, as it’s not expected to be below zero for the majority of the week, and concrete cures so wonderfully well in cooler weather as opposed to hot weather.

We’ll show you some photos of the pour and the stripped foundation later this week. Next step will be getting some basic lower level plumbing rough-ins done before getting serious about framing to lock up. Stay tuned.
