In Magna Bay, we’re getting closer to wrapping up a beautiful 2,900 square foot West Coast beach home. This project features extensive custom finishing that reflects the desire of the owners to create something beautiful and unique.
At this point, it’s all about finishing and custom cabinetry. Installing the custom millwork is Dentara Cabinets Ltd. from Abbotsford. The clients have ties to this well-established company and expressly requested us to use them.
Needless to say, we have been very happy with the experience thus far. Over the past couple of weeks, Dentara’s craftsmen have visited the sites multiple times for measurements, followed by a week of installations that went quite smoothly. With cabinets in place, the solid surface countertops have been templated and will be installed in the weeks ahead.
Meanwhile, the shower enclosures are being prepped for tile, the “moon gate” door (which you can see in the bottom left photo above) has been trimmed out, and all doors have been installed. The next step will see the designer bring in custom glass inserts.
Also in the coming weeks, the fireplace hearth and mantle will be built and finished in a Japanese style Naguri pattern, which should be amazing. Our own skilled finish carpenter, Chuck Beaton will be doing this work.
