Eagle Bay Hall Close to Completion

Last year, we signed on to lead the renovation of the fine old venerable Eagle Bay Community Hall. Built in the 50s, the hall was in dire need of an expansion and update, and the regional district and many private and corporate donors came together to fund to it. The goal was to modernize, enlarge and equip the facility so that it could meet the ever-increasing demand from community members.

Since then, we’ve completed much of the work, including finishing the new kitchen addition, installing new flooring, and completing the interior transformation. Now we’re on to the final steps: completing the exterior.

In the photos above, you can see the exterior siding work being done by our subcontractor, Derek Lidstone of Lidstone Construction. Derek specializes in HardiePlank, metal and wood siding, along with soffits of all kind. Also, our own carpenters, Chuck Beaton and Chad Holland, have been working on the wood posts and beams, and are prepping to build fencing.

The goal is to have the entire project wrapped up so the hall can be used this coming summer.

“It’s been great being a huge part of this community upgrade,” says Heidi Friesen, CIFH Project Manager. “We can’t wait to see it all come together. This facility has been a central part of life for Eagle Bay residents and visitors over the last seven decades, and with this expansion and reno, it will continue to do so for decades to come.”
