Beach Beauty Continued…

This week’s update is from our massive beachfront addition/renovation project that we’re working on in Scotch Creek. At this point, it’s all about the finishing, both inside and outside.

On the exterior, this week’s efforts were all about getting the decorative gable trusses installed, which you can see on the photo array above. These are non-structural timber trusses are attached to exterior gable peaks to add architectural depth, dimension, and beauty. They’re typically used on Craftsman style homes, modern farmhouses, and even rustic cabins. We think you’ll agree that they’re a perfect match on this stunning home, especially since they’ve been finished with a very dark stain which contrasts beautiful with the lighter siding and brickwork.

Inside, we’ve completed the shiplap ceilings and beams throughout the home. We’ve also installed all the interior doors, which are now being stained in place. All the casing has been pre-stained, and we’ve starting casing windows throughout. Our painters have largely painted their way through the entire house.

Meanwhile, our tilesetters are getting started with waterproofing and prep. We’re also just getting started on cabinetry, which won’t be a small feat, since the owners have specified custom millwork in almost every room of this home.

“We’re very excited to be finally to this stage and seeing things come together,” says Project Manager Heidi Friesen. “We still have a lot of finishing left, but this will be a perfect house to work in through the winter.”

Watch for more updates in the months ahead.
