In Celista, after a lengthy delay satisfying riparian requirements and securing our building permit, we’re close to starting what will be our third rebuild from 2023’s catastrophic wildfires.
Above, you can see a conceptual drawing of what the new home will look like. And in the two smaller photos to the right, you can see the fate of the owners’ previous home after wildfires swept through in the late summer of 2023.
The new lakefront home will be built on the same footprint as the previous home. It features two levels of living space, each with about 1,250 square feet of living space. The top level will provide a level entry to the driveway, with a daylight lower level. And as the steeply sloping lot allows for it, there will be a crawlspace foundation that will provide excellent storage.
Not surprisingly, the new home will incorporate some fire smart improvements, including fibre cement siding and a metal roof.
We’ll be onsite with this exciting new project as soon as we complete the final permitting stage. Look for updates in the weeks and months ahead.
