A 15 Year Partnership

It was slightly delayed by the pandemic, but it finally arrived. We’re talking about our commemorative plaque honouring our 15 year commitment to being a full member of the Canadian Home Builders’ Association–the voice of Canada’s residential construction industry.

As a longstanding member of the CHBA, we adhere to its Code of Ethics and have committed our company to annual certification and education programs. We are the only Shuswap builder certified by the Canadian Home Builder’s Association through their two-year Registered Home Professional, Licensed Residential Builder, Renovator and Built Green Builder programs, and we are a Certified Energy Star Builder.

“For the best part of the past 15 years, we’ve been one of the very few home construction companies in the Shuswap that have recognized the importance of being members of CHBA,” explains Marcus Picton, President and CEO of Copper Island Fine Homes. “The Association is truly our trusted partner. At the local level, it represents our collective concerns to municipal governments, and it does the same at the provincial and national levels. Through CHBA networking events, industry seminars, and professional development courses and accreditation like Built Green, we have built ourselves a reputation as the new home company of choice in the Shuswap. And we think it’s clear that many of our clients over the years have entrusted the the construction of their Shuswap dream homes with us because of our longstanding relationship with CHBA.”

Of particular importance to Copper Island Fine Homes are the Keystone Awards, presented annually to the best builders in the Central Interior division of CHBA. We are the only builder in the Shuswap that’s been recognized multiple times for excellence at the Keystone Awards. Since 2008, we’ve won 21 awards, including Gold awards for Best Customer Service, Customer Choice, Interior Design, Detached Home and Renovation. Most recently, during the 2020 Keystone Awards, we were awarded Gold for for Best Customer Service, Gold for Best Home $1.5M to $3M, and Gold for Most Unique Design.
