    • Digging In on the North Shore

      August 04, 2019

One of our projects this busy summer is a stunning West Coast home on the North Shore that we’re striving to bring to completion on time—and it’s going to take all of best efforts to do so. A combination of some last minute changes, such as the addition of radiant slab heating, and high demand for some of our sub-trades (particularly electrical and drywall) has put us a little behind schedule, but we’re making excellent progress in many areas.

Insulation is completed, and we now have firm schedules in place for drywall, painting and finishing. Interior doors, trims, and flooring have been ordered, and cabinets are in production and scheduled for installation. Our clients have been diligent with their finishing decisions, and as such, appliances have been confirmed and ordered, the interior stairway design has been completed and materials ordered, and lighting has been ordered. Final details are being ironed out for bath fixtures, mirrors, custom shower doors and closets.

Outside, metal roofing with torch on and snow stops has been completed. So too have soffits and gutters (complete with leaf guards), as well as Hardieplank siding.

Moving forward, exterior masonry products have been ordered and install scheduled. The lower and entry concrete decks have been prepared with rebar, and stamped concrete scheduled. Mirage deck screens have been measured and ordered. A propane tank with WiFi order notification has been ordered, and a location established and prepped for install.

Towards the lake, our staff have been working with landscapers and Ministry of Environment officials to improve beach access and establish a lot landscape design. Retaining natural rocks walls are already complete, as it is the septic system.

Our noses will be to the grindstone over the next couple of months to deliver this outstanding home to their new owners by October.
