One of our final housing starts for 2018 was this a custom-designed West Coast walkout rancher in the beautiful McArthur Heights subdivision.
The main floor of the home, which we're building for clients from the Lower Mainland, features 1,294 square feet of living space along with an oversized 640 square foot oversized garage. The lower level has an additional of 1,543 square feet of living space and a 215 storage area.
One of the main challenges with this home is the relatively steeply-sloped lot. We applied for and obtained a CSRD steep slopes permit, and then proceeded with a rough-in driveway in preparation for excavation in mid-November. At that point, we discovered a significant amount of rock and therefore brought in an experienced blasting crew to create a suitable home site. With blasting done, we were finally able to proceed with foundation work, which has recently been completed and framing started.
Like our other McArthur Heights projects, the finished home will feature stunning westerly views across Shuswap Lake to the mountains beyond. We'll be working hard throughout the winter and spring to have this outstanding home completed for our clients by this summer.
