Another one of our autumn/winter projects for 2018 is a new lakefront home in Eagle Bay. The owners, who live overseas, have opted to completely remove the existing home and make way for a brand new, architecturally-designed masterpiece. They are entirely involved in the design process and are enthusiastic to make use of the most up-to-date energy efficiency features, including geothermal heating.
Currently, we have completed tear down of the existing structure, with a focus on on recycling as many of its components as possible. We have completed our CSRD development permit, riparian assessments and bylaw exemptions necessary for extending the footprint of the house toward lake, and for building over-height.
The new home will feature approximately 4,300 square feet of living space, along with a 580 square foot garage.
Some of its other energy-efficiency features include zoned heating, heat recovery ventilator, steam humidifier, solar roof array, higher insulation values, and Innotech triple pane windows and doors. The home will also have a generator with auto switch and propane backup, a lower deck hot tub with exterior shower, an electronic entry gate, torch-on decks with Hydroslab deck pavers, and a HardiPlank/stucco/stone exterior.
Completion is scheduled for July, 2019.
